The band formed in 2003 after Rocker Russ heard MxPx’s old school punk sounds on the album “Let it Happen.” After this inspiration he began writing songs and soon felt called to form a band as a means of ministry to the secular rock scene. When he went to college at Liberty University, his main goal was to start this band, and with the help of his roommate he formed the band Terremoto of the Quiet Ones. Unfortunately, it was hard to find a committed drummer, and after going through 5 drummers and countless potential interviews the band dissolved, with only a raw demo to show for it. Yet Russ was more convinced than ever that this was the reason he was created.
So after graduating from college he set out again to form the band from scratch, this time in the Washington, DC area. And that’s where he is right now, having been graduated for only a few months he finally finished a decent sounding demo and is in the process of recruiting new band members, making connections and establishing a fan base.
Terra is the root word for earth, and Motus is the root word for motion or movement, so Terra motus literally means “movement of the earth.” This is what we hope to create with our band by rocking people’s cores and moving them to become who they were created to be. |
